Privacy & cookies.
What Ilios Rentals collects when you book a stay, why we collect it, who ever sees it, and the rights you keep over all of it. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Your name and contact details when you book or inquire, payment via a card processor (we never store the card ourselves), your IP, and cookie data.
To run your reservation and the Service: confirmations, support, security, analytics, and legal compliance. Never sold.
See it, correct it, export it, restrict it, or delete it, under both GDPR and the CCPA. One email starts the process.
Used for logins, statistics, and marketing. Block or delete them any time in your browser; the site keeps working.
The cards are a plain-English summary for convenience. The full policy below is what governs.
01Who We Are; Scope
This policy covers the Ilios Rentals booking platform (the “Platform” or “We”), which allows guests to book and reserve residences online (the “Service”). It outlines our privacy practices with respect to the Service: the ways your personal information is collected, stored, used, and shared.
Providing us with your personal information is a choice you make, and we thank you for making it. You are not legally obligated to provide this information, but we do need it to let you use the Service. We act as data controller and are responsible for the collection and use of any data you submit or provide through the Service.
In addition to this policy, additional policies or codes of conduct may apply to your use of the Service. If you have any questions about your use of the Service, please contact us.
02What We Collect
When you submit an inquiry, make a customer service request, or register an account, you provide contact information such as your name, address, mobile phone number, and email address.
- Payment card details when you pay for a stay, collected on our behalf by a payment processor;
- information gathered by cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and in email;
- your IP address, from your internet service provider; and
- bank details, where a property owner requires them.
03How Information Is Used & Shared
We may share the information you give us with third-party service providers in order to provide and support the Service:
- communicating with you about the Service and responding to your requests;
- enhancing the security and safety of the Service, such as investigating suspicious activity or violations of applicable terms;
- developing new tools, products, and services within the Service;
- associating activity on the Service across different devices operated by the same individual, to improve its overall operation;
- identifying and fixing bugs;
- conducting data and system analytics, including research to improve the Service; and
- complying with applicable law and assisting law enforcement agencies and competent authorities, where we believe it is necessary or justified.
04Your Rights Over Your Data
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- the right to request a copy of your personal data;
- the right to request correction of personal data that is inaccurate or out of date;
- the right to request deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for us to retain it;
- the right to withdraw consent to processing at any time, for example consent to e-marketing (use the manage-subscriptions link in our communications; you may still receive system and administrative messages such as booking confirmations and account notifications);
- the right to receive your personal data in a portable format, and where possible to have it passed directly to another data controller, when processing is based on consent or contract;
- the right to request a restriction on further processing while a dispute about accuracy or processing is resolved; and
- the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest or used for direct marketing.
If you cannot exercise a right using the tools in the Service, contact us directly to access, modify, export, or delete your personal information.
05GDPR Notice
The following disclosure is made pursuant to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, dated April 27, 2016. As a data controller of our clients’ personal data, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in compliance with the GDPR.
Consent: where collection is based on consent, we use consent forms and store documentation of the consent the individual gave. We use personal information to fulfill our obligations under contracts and agreements with customers, partners, and suppliers.
Legitimate interest: we may use personal data where doing so is a legitimate interest that is not overridden by the privacy interests of the data subject. Before relying on this basis, an assessment is made identifying a mutual interest.
06Data Retention
We retain personally identifiable information for as long as we deem necessary for the purposes set out above. We may delete information from our systems, without notice to you, once we deem it no longer necessary for those purposes.
07CCPA Notice (California)
You may exercise certain consumer rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the types of third parties it is shared with or sold to.
- Right to deletion: request that we delete your personal information. We will delete anything not critical to normal business operation and direct our service providers to do the same. Data is considered critical when used to provide goods or services to you, detect and resolve security or functionality issues, or comply with legal obligations.
- Right to non-discrimination: if you exercise your rights, we will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices or rates (including through discounts, benefits, or penalties), or provide a different level or quality of goods or services.
Do not sell my personal information: we do not sell information that identifies you, such as your name or contact information. We do allow ad networks such as Facebook and Google to collect your electronic activity while you are on our website.
08Children’s Privacy
The Service is for people 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly or intentionally collect information about children under 16.
09Cookies
We may use cookies on the Service. Cookies are packets of information sent by our servers to your web browser and sent back each time the browser accesses our servers. They may contain information such as the pages you visited, session durations, and IP addresses.
Cookies serve several purposes: collecting statistical information about how the Service is used, saving you from re-entering your login on every visit, making the site work more efficiently, providing business and marketing information, and gathering data such as browser type, operating system, referring page, path through the site, and ISP domain to understand how visitors use the site. They also help tailor the site to your needs and detect and prevent security threats and abuse.
You can block cookies in your browser settings or with the marketing-cookie option on the Service, delete cookies already on your computer, and set your browser to prevent new ones. See your browser’s help menu for instructions, and note that disabling cookies may affect your experience on the Service. Advertising cookies can be deleted at optout.aboutads.info.
10Changes to This Policy
We may change this policy from time to time and will provide notice of changes through the Service’s interface. Your continued use of the Service constitutes consent to the amended policy. If you do not consent, we may terminate your account and access to the Service 30 days after you decline the revised policy. Where legally required or necessary, changes may take effect immediately.
